Quest I scratch your back...

Quest

I Scratch Your Back… is the first quest added by the Mothership Zeta Crew add-on for Fallout 3.

Detailed Walkthrough[]

After completing the final quest of the Mothership Zeta add-on, This Galaxy Ain't Big Enough..., the player can start this quest by activating the communication control, which can be found on the bridge just to the right of the mechanism that fires the death ray.

Once the control is activated, the player will receive a distress call from Major Harkin, explaining that he and a small group of others was attacked by super mutants. Running out of options, the group was forced to barricade itself in the Tricell Chemical Plant, and now requests immediate assistance.

Upon arrival, the Lone Wanderer will encounter a large number of super mutants. After dispatching them, the player must then use the machinery control terminal at the northern end of the upper level of the room. This will cause the machinery to explode, blasting apart the inaccessible door below, and clearing the way to the provisional bunker beyond.

Entering the bunker and talking to Major Harkin completes the quest, after which he will reveal that he is actually a defector from the Enclave , believing that Colonel Autumn’s methods are too extreme, and President Eden is too distant. Before abandoning the Enclave, he gathered a number of other Enclave personnel that shared the same viewpoint. Numbering about 200- a full company- they set out across the Wastes- much to the ire of the rest of the Enclave, which began to hunt them. Their goal, to make contact with the Brotherhood of Steel, whom they believed would accept them into their ranks. The Brotherhood not only rebuffed them, but began to go after them as well.

Facing both the Enclave and the Brotherhood of Steel Harkin’s Company finds themselves in dire straits.  The Lone Wanderer then offers them refuge on Mothership Zeta, which they accept, marking the beginning of the formation of the Terran Starship Command
